Charity Quiz

David Tennant, famous for playing the 10th Doctor in BBC's popular science fiction "Doctor Who", joined fellow celebrities and participated in Centrepoint's annual charity quiz, helping to raise $50,000 for the charity dedicated to helping the homeless people of London.

No Chains Allowed

Joaquin Phoenix began a campaign in 2006 to ban the chaining of dogs in California, pointing out that it's both unhealthy for the pets and for the citizens; especially since children wander in neighborhoods and can potentially be harmed by dogs left out, not recognizing the danger.

Secret Santa

Irish actor Colin Farrell was found to be secretly visiting sick children at a Dublin hospital on Christmas of 2009, distributing gifts and playing with the children for hours, which he apparently had been doing for years before the reporters caught up with him. Both the staff and the children find him to be a genuine, kind-hearted fellow, and look forward to his visits each year.

Cheering The Less Fortunate

After attending the Golden Globes, Jeff Bridges gather whatever leftover food he could and instructed his driver to take him to the outskirts of LA, where he handed out bags of food to the homeless. He also made several more trips after the first, delivering bedding and clothing to a now cheered group of homeless people.

Helping the Homeless

While in Philadelphia filming one of his movies in the winter of 2011, actor Bradley Cooper noticed the great amount of homeless people without proper clothing for the cold weather and personally bought thousands of dollars worth of coats, scarves, and gloves and handed them out to the less fortunate of the city. Not only that, but when a homeless man complimented Cooper on the jacket he was wearing, which was a gift from Robert De Niro, Cooper took it off and gave it to him on the spot. What a gift!

Helicopter Rescue

When a dehydrated hiker called for help, famed actor and helicopter pilot Harrison Ford volunteered to do a rescue pick up, free of charge, saving Teton County more than $2000 and escorting the needy hiker to safety.

Act of Bravery

In 2002, Vin Diesel was driving on his motorcycle when the car in front of him lost control and crashed, bursting into flames. Diesel pulled over and rushed to the car, pulling out two children and instructing the the driver to climb over the seat and out the back door shortly before the car was destroyed by the flames. All three passengers escaped unharmed.
